Ask sim to prom option won't show up

One of my teenage sims has a romantic interest, and I just got the notification for prom. Whenever I go into the romantic options, ask to prom isn't there. Same thing with asking to learn to drive. I have Generations installed and it is obviously working, I can't seem to find a solution.
