I just found this thread, and it may have answered my problems, especially the adding new lots bit; I have Sunset Valley (Second Edition) and I added a bunch of lots to it when Showtime came out to make it ST compatible, and have been having a lot of problems with crashing and lag. I love the town but it's just not working for me. I'm on a Mac so can't use CAW at the moment, but I'm planning on doing a Boot Camp install with Windows 7 and play Sims 3 on that side so I could use CAW to make my modifications then. In the meantime, I'll just play Lucky Palms when it comes out and not make too many modifications until I get my hands on CAW.
