I play on normal lifespan and I'm on generation 2 and the last one is about to turn young adult. Maybe I didn't play long enough to have major problems yet.
The work doesn't have to be all lost though. If my game ever gets unplayable I can always save the lots I made to the bin for if I ever figure out how to use CAW.
It will be interesting to see how far you get! Please keep us updated. Do you have EA's SP on? And how high is your sims' free will? Just curious, as it seems like those two things might effect pathing simply because if SP is off and free will is low, then sims won't be traveling much to cause errors. Not sure if it actually works that way, it makes logical sense to me, but Sims games are not always logical. ;D
I usually do save the houses when lag starts getting bad but I waited too long with that save. It got so corrupt and so many of the sims in it were corrupt, it wouldn't let me evict people and I didn't want to risk infecting other games. Though later I leaned I probably could have just saved the sims and houses to the library and have been fine. But not until after I had deleted the save. :\
I only recently learned to set up a town exactly how I want it (venues and houses and such) and then save that as a default world and then whenever I want to make a game in that world I just start with that default save then save it right away with a different name. I've been doing that with LP and it has worked well. I just can't believe I never thought of doing it on my own. Now I also use Error Trap and Overwatch so they catch and fix many errors I do get in towns.
