Black Screen after i starting the Sims 3

Hello, after updating to Windows 11, I'm trying to launch Sims 3, but I'm getting an endless black screen. However, if I remove the Sims 3 folder from my documents and launch the game again, it works. However, I can't start from scratch. There are mods available that fix gameplay errors in Sims 3, as well as a smooth patch.

  • SadBeloChao  You've established that something in your main Sims 3 folder is causing the black screen, so you'll need to find out what that is.  It doesn't mean starting from scratch, just testing the content you have.  One shortcut is that there are two NRaas mods known to prevent the game from launching under certain circumstances: Cupcake if the Store bakery set isn't loading (even if it's been installed), and the MasterController Progression module if the base MC and StoryProgression mods aren't present.  So remove those if you have them.

Otherwise, move over the Mods folder and see whether the game works.  If it does, try DCCache next.  If the Mods folder is the issue, remove half the mods and test again, then keep splitting and testing until you find the issue.

Delete scriptCache.package each time you add or remove a mod, and the other cache files when you're working with DCCache.

Thank you so much for your help. Unfortunately, I had to remove simler90GameplayCoreMod in order to launch the game.
