Cannot do/complete Spying on the Cuisine (Two expacs)

I have both Supernatural and Pets added on. Each time Spying on the Cuisine comes up, I get the map marker and clicking on it only enables me to select from the restaurant or the business & journalism building.

If I eat at the restaurant, I get no objective marker to return to work or anything. I've tried completing it a few times and cancelling it but it doesn't seem to reset or fix anything. I can't seem to find anyone having a similar problem either (at least not yet).

    it could be  due to a corrupt work outfit take your sim to the dresser and give them a new work outfit  If the sim already has more than one delete the extra ones instead

    edit to add does the sim have any special seeds in their inventory as that has caused some issues too with sims not been able to complete certain tasks once the seeds were removed from the inventory they were able to complete the task
