can't complete opportunities

Question

I have the Sims 3 Pets and Generations Expansion packs with the newest version of the game downloaded. The problem is I can't complete school opportunities like attending recitals/performances/award ceremonies (for after school activities) or attending the graduation ceremony. The button that needs to come up to complete these opportunities doesn't appear.

Answer

Check to see if your school is combined with another venue. Combined venues often prevent your sims from completing opportunities. If this is the case, try going into edit town and place single venues for the school and whatever venue is combined with it. Hope this helps.
