Can't Perform any Showtime jobs?

I just purchased  Showtime and installed it today but every time I try to perform a job the task just disappears from the queue and my sim just sits there. I've seen other people who have this problem but haven't seen any resolutions for it yet. My game is running without custom content or mods but just won't work no matter what I do.

I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Showtime but beyond that I have no other ideas. Has anyone seen a way to get this fixed? I am at version 12.0.273.019001 but it says I'm up to date so I'm assuming there are no other patches I'm missing.

Help please! This game is a total waste if I can't play the new functionality :-(
