I have Sims 3 on my Mac and I have the language setting as Korean but for some reason, I can't type in Korean. All the UI still shows up as Korean but I can only type in English.
Update: I just figured out how to do it
I still can't type, but if I copy and paste with my keyboard language set in English, it works!

flyxxthemoon I'm not sure how to help here, but I messaged someone who might have an idea. I don't know whether they'll reply. If they do, please try whatever suggestions they have.

Hi, Do you still have this issue? Not sure this is the right fix but Hope you check if Korean IME is installed if you are living in overseas. or Re install your Sims 3 base game.
