@tanoo971 I've moved your thread to the Sims 3 PC tech section since you indicated in a PM that you're playing Sims 3.
This is a common issue with custom content and can only be solved by removing the offending cc. I'm not saying you need to remove all your cc; it's possible for a single broken item to impact everything else.
Since you have both .Sims3Pack and .package content, test each type of cc separately. For the .package files, you can simply move them out of the Packages folder, for example onto your desktop. For the items that came in Sims3Pack form, go into DCCache and move out all the files that end in .dbc. (The .ebc files are bundled store content.) In each case, delete the five cache files in the same Sims 3 folder:
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
Where to go from here depends on the source of the issue. For .package files, use the 50/50 method: add back half the files and test, and if the problem doesn't appear, add half the rest. If the issue shows up, remove half the files you just added and test again. It shouldn't take long to identify one problem file, but please remember that you could have more than one, so test the other files too.
For Sims3Pack content, you can use Method by Mell on this page to narrow things down:
https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/tutorial-how-to-get-rid-of-unwanted-custom-content.html
Once you find the file causing the issue, you may or may not be able to figure out which item is the problem, but at worst, you can delete the entire .dbc file. If you want to reinstall the content it contains, test it out first in a clean Sims 3 folder so you don't reintroduce the issue to your existing folder.
If the red tint persists even with both .Sims3Pack and .package content removed, try deleting everything in DCBackup except for ccmerged.package. The next step would be to remove the Library, SavedSims, and InstalledWorlds folders, in order, and use the same 50/50 method on their contents as well.
Error 12 is an out-of-resources condition, usually but not always related to memory. So please load your save, let it run for ~20 real-time minutes, put the game in windowed mode (but don't minimize it), and let me know how much RAM Sims 3 is using in the Task Manager. If your system memory use is above 90%, please let me know as well.
Hi! Thanks for your help.
I went through every step and I think the problem comes from the world I'm in because non CC objects also turned red.
It worked perfectly until now, I don't know why. I really don't want to delete it because I'll lose all my progression so far. What can I do ? 😢

@tanoo971 Try copying the .world file, in InstalledWorlds, into a clean Sims 3 folder, just that world but nothing else, and see whether the red shows up. If it doesn't, you can move your saves and other content into that new folder and continue playing.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand.

@tanoo971 Move the Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. Open the launcher to create a clean folder. Inside that new Sims 3 folder, create an InstalledWorlds folder (exactly that, just like in the old folder). Go into InstalledWorlds in the old Sims 3 folder, find the .world file with the name of the world you've been playing in, copy that file, and paste it into the InstalledWorlds folder in the new Sims 3 folder.
Launch the game, load a new save in the world you've been playing in, and see whether you have the same issue. If you don't, add one cc item to the new Sims 3 folder and see whether it turns red. Let me know how things turn out and we can go from there.
I'd also like to know which world you're playing in. Please don't link it unless it's on the Exchange (third-party download links aren't allowed on this site), just give me the world's name and the name of the site that hosts it.
