Changing household name
I know how to change the sim's name, but is there any way to change the name of the household? And do you have to have Seasons to change the female sims last name when they get married? ~Beth~

The marriage/change name thing is a bug which should be fixed in 1.47. Update your game.
The household name should be changable in edit town when you select the family. There's an edit button there.
