Crashing After CAS

My game abruptly started crashing specifically after  I use Master Controller's instant Baby, and then edit the baby in CAS. It doesn't crash after opening CAS on a random sim. I tried removing the mods I have specific to CAS stuff (skintones, extra sliders, clothes), and i also removed the mods I think I added most recently. But the problem still occurs. Is it probably CC due to its specific nature? My computer is kind of low-powered to play sims but it handles it alright.

    Hi @Dannirossb,

If I understand correctly, you only get this issue when using 'Master controller' mod, right? In that case, yes, there's some kind of issue with that mod, and you will need to update or remove it.

Good luck, and happy simming! 🙂

  • Hi @Dannirossb,

    Welcome to Answers HQ!

To be able to troubleshoot this, we are going to need to find out if it's indeed a mods/CC issue or not. Fortunately, we can easily check this 🙂  I would recommend removing all your mods and CC from the game, and check if the issue is still happening.

To remove your mods/CC, follow these steps:

    1. Move your Mods folder to your desktop or another location outside The Sims 3 folder.
    2. Delete the file scriptCache.package in Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 3.
    3. In your launcher, check 'Run without custom content' box in 'Installed content' tab.

Now open your game, is the issue still happening? Make sure not to save so you don't miss any custom content in your save game!

  • I did that except I left the nraas master controller mods.... Because the issue is only triggered by use of them. Does this mean it is an issue with the master controller cheats?
