Create a sim, Hair tab wont load.

I went on my sims 3, wich has been working fine lately and clicked on the hair icon to change her hair and eyebrows, after a while it zooms into my sims head but the hair little window doesnt load, no hair or eyebrows!
My game is up to date and i have downloaded stuff from the exchange but it was all working so......
please help as I have just bought the University Life and dont want to waste it! Maybe it was the university life that ruined it?!
