Uninstall your most recent EP then download and reinstall the digital version from Origin. Instructions here.
I have a similar problem.
I upgraded my Mac from Lion to El Capitan. When I try to load Sims3, the computer says 'Please insert your game disk', but it's already in there.
I've ejected and re-inserted, same message.
I uninstalled Sims3 and reinstalled, got the updates and patches from the EA website, now says 'Your game is up to date.' still same message.
I click 'Play' on the game launcher, I see the opening titles, the load screen with the green bar at the bottom ... then I get the New Game menu, and a window immediately pops up, 'No game disc found! My only options are Retry or Quit. Clicking Retry gets a new copy of the same window immediately after pressing it. Quit works fine!
