Forum Discussion
Hi,
So I've had my Sims 3 game and Supernatural expansion pack (Win/Mac DVD-ROM Software, installed on a Mac) since June 2015. I only used the Supernatural expansion pack, but I installed both the Sims 3 and the expansion pack. It worked perfectly, up until about December 2015.
At that time, I would be able to open the game all the way up to the menu that allowed you to create a new family or pick a family that has already been made. Then, I would receive an error that said "No disk detected. Please insert The Sims 3: Supernatural disk!"
I figured it might just be something that needed to be waited out, so I didn't play for about a month to see if it was an internal error in the server or something. In January, I tried reinstalling it and waited some more. I received the error again. Within the past few days I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it on the same computer, trying to play both the regular Sims and the expansion, and I installed it on the different computer with the same results.
I don't know what to do, every forum I go on has answers that don't work, and I'm starting to get frustrated. The disk shouldn't give out so quickly, especially because I haven't touched the Sims 3 disk once since I used it to install the game on the computer, and the Supernatural disk has been handled very gently.
Best,
Mahogany Squash
Your problem is extremely common and downloading and installing your most recent EP digitally and patching the game with the digital super patch should make it work once again.
