I'm constantly trying to start the sims 3 game, but I too am constantly plagued by disk authorization failure messages. I have tried the "registering my games and download digital version" solution but the problem for me is that my account was deleted or something. I've tried the forgotten password resend button, but the email never arrives in my email nor junk mail so I cannot access my account with all my games on it. I've tried getting a new account with Origin, but I cannot register my games as I already registered them with my old account. I tried contacting customer support, but all that I get is a real chat window that says, hold tight, but the window never changes even hours later. I'm really frustrated. Why is a live chat that doesn't even work their only means of contact?
Make sure you have United States chosen as the location in the top left corner of the chat window.

Yes, I have it as United States, even though I don't live there. Is it really relevant for the live chat to work?

Yes, it's the only way I've ever got it to work and I'm in the UK. Others have reported the same.
