I don't have Showtime yet. I read the first page and this last page and am not sure if anyone else has brought this up, so sorry it this has already been mentioned.
As I understand it the content does not get transferred, only the ID for the content. So if a simmer sends over a performer and they have custom content on but the receiver does not have that content then something they do have gets substituted.
People who say they are receiving CC from a sim sent via simport may think don't have that CC but I think they may. They may not have it in their game but they may have had it in their game previously.
When you download a sim from the exchange, say, and they have CC that CC package gets added as a file in your dcbackup directory as well as into your game stored in one of the files in the DCCache directory. If you remove the CC from your game via the launcher it removes that CC from your game by removing it from the file in the DCCavhe folder but it does not remove the file from the DCBackup folder.
When you share and upload a sim to the exchange that has CC, that CC will only get included with the sim if it is in your DCBackup folder.
