Does the Sim show in your account under uploads or still not ?
If so, you go here: http://mypage.thesims3.com/myProfile.html and make sure you choose Avatar.
There should be a little drop down box that says default avatars. Click on the Uploaded Avatar and choose the one you want.

I really don't know why some stuff doesn't show up.
Did you use custom content on your Sim ?
- ApprovedNo custom content! I did use several expansions though, although I wouldn't think that that would be a problem...
