[DESPERATE] "The Sims 3 has stopped working" after 10-20 minutes of playing (every time)

Hi,

I recently purchased The Sims 3 through the Humble Bundle and installed it on my brand new computer using Origin.

Every time I try to play the game, I get "The Sims 3 has stopped working" after playing for about 10-20 minutes; usually within creating sims. If I'm lucky or fast enough, I get to the actual game.

Here are things I've tried:

- Deleting the cache folders in My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3

- Adding every single .exe in the Sims 3 Program Files(x86) folder (including the exes in the "Packs" folder) to the DEP thing.

- Right clicking on the shortcut, clicking "Properties", clicking "Compatibility", running in Windows XP (Service Pack 2), reducing colour mode and running the program as administrator.

- Running the game in Windowed mode (non-fullscreen) & making the window small

- Going to my Intel Graphics options, going to Advanced Mode, clicking on 3D and setting it to maximum performance.

- Running directly through TS3W.exe.

- Adding all exes to firewall allowance

- Using CFF Explorer to disallow TS3.exe from using more than 2GB of RAM

I think I've tried a few other things but I can't recall. Here is information about my computer:

- Age: A few days

- OS: Windows 8 (64-bit)

- Model: Acer Aspire E1-531

- Processor: Intel B960 (2.2GHz, 2MB L3 cache)

- Graphics: Intel HD

- LCD: 15.6" HD LED

- RAM: 8 GB DDR3 (7.82 available)

- HDD: 1000 GB (915 available)
