Disc but no Serial Code

I have a new gaming PC... and the last time I played Sims 3 we were using origin. I'm not even sure I needed the disc to even play on origin. However, now I notice we have the EA App. I have the DISC and only bought expansions for the sims 3 via ea. I do not have the casing for the disc to show me what my serial number is. 

EA is saying they cannot help with this. However, how does this make any sense? If I was using Origin and playing without a disc back then... yall take over and now I have to repurchase the game? I've had Sims 3 for years and years! 

I need to find a way to download origin or something because it is my understanding that Origin kept track of the serial number.

    Thanks for the reply... I don't know I logged out of the EA app and back in and boom there was my sims 3 with all my add ons. So I guess sometimes that's all you have to do. lol However, no I did not have the old laptop anymore so I would've been out of luck.

    @kevinn95  Is it possible that you originally installed the base game via disc?  If so, you would have needed a serial code during the process, but Origin may not have required you to register it.  Installing packs via Origin would have removed the need for a disc altogether.

    Do you still have access to the old computer where you first installed the game?  If so, you can try to find the code there:

    Otherwise, without a code and without the EA App recognizing that you own the base game, there's not much you can do here.

    If it's any consolation, the Sims 3 Starter Pack (base game, Late Night, High-End Loft Stuff) is often on sale for 60% off, so $8 U.S. rather than $20.  It will probably go on sale during Black Friday week and over the winter holidays.
