PLEASE TAKE OUT YOUR MODS BEFORE UPDATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Make sure to backup the folder in documents\electronicarts\thesims3 to a safe place. That's all your user data like your download...

I had a problem downloading the digital version. I havent done any downloads for the sims besides to buy it, which should  I download. I have just the sims 3

What is your base game version right now ?

Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner
