My game started to lag when I installed The Sims 3 Pets. I did all of those things you said (I even got a powerful new PC lol) and Appaloosa Plains still lags. But, this is not an ordinary lag, when the game freezes, animations, shadows and plumbob are moving while sims and everything else is frozen. I tried to uninstall every EP and SP and install it in exact order but it still lags pretty bad. Any tips?

I read your solutions and the ''resetsim *'' helped! I can't belive that I've spent 3 hours talking with EA Help and they couldn't solve my problem. Thank you crinirict, you just made my game 100% more enjoyable! :D

    i tried the resetsim multipule times and it doesnt seem to help, ive also reinstalled the entire 10 expansions and stuff packs i have (About a 3/4 hr chores) 3 times in the past 3 days....as i just purchased into the future and island paradise i would like to actually PLAY it. I did notice if i take my sim from the present where the game freezes every 3/5 and stays froze for about 3/5 secs this issue goes away if i take my sim to the future. Once it stopped when i shut the sim radio off but sadly its doing it again and there are no radios allowed on my lots ne more...so please help me i really would like to play my game as i also just purchased a new gaming computer JUST FOR Sims and about 4 other EA games...
