Game Blacks Out in CAS

I have a couple problems – they may be related, they may not.
1)  My game occasionally freezes on start up when the EA symbol appears.
2)  If it doesn’t freeze on start up, I can get a few minutes in to editing in CAS and the screen will go black and say it is going in to sleep mode. I have to restart my pc – I can’t just shake the mouse or whatever to wake the system.

I have several mods from NRAAS and some CC.

I have all the Sim EP’s and fluff packs except the Katy Perry pack.

I have tried running with no CC and no mods and it still happens. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Sims and all the EP’s – the problem persists. I am fairly certain the problem began after the 1.39 update. I uninstalled the base game and was going to update to 1.38 but can’t figure out how to.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice. I think I’ve tried just about everything.

    Did you try that ? Also is that a laptop or desktop ? Don't think your specs are to blame.

    I saw his reply and I reset my system to never sleep - the problem persists.

    Does it only happen in CAS or also when you play the game ?

    Since you said it's starting from the beginning, I don't think it's an overheating issue, especially on desktops.

    I'm pretty sure it only does it in CAS.
    I haven't actually gotten to play in almost 3 weeks - I was trying to make a new family to play when this problem started. I tried running a premade family today and it played fine; no problems at all.

    Could you check how high your FPS are in CAS. To do so use the cheat FPS on.

    Not sure if I did this right. . . . the only number I saw was 135 in the top right corner.

    What's that mean?

    These are the frames per second. They are a little high (Sims does not limit them) but I don't think they are way to high so that it could explain an emergency shut-down.

    I really think it has something to do with your monitor. No idea though. Maybe someone else has an idea.

    EDIT: To rule out a temperature issue, download a program to monitor the temperatur and see how hot it gets.

    Why would it only get hot in CAS and not while playing the game or doing other things?

    The program I downloaded came up with several temps and I'm not sure which one to give you so .. . . . .

    GPU      82C

    Temp1 127C

    Temp2  23C

    Temp3   -27C

    HD0       41C

    Core0    70C

    Core1    70C

    Core2    71C

    Core3    70C

    Which one is the right one?

    Is this on idle ? This is too high. GPU is your graphic card.

    Open up your computer and clean out the dust. Make sure the fans are spinning properly.
