Game crashes to origin after launch

Since you've pretty much eliminated account and user data issues, it's probably a system issue, and the dxdiag will cover a lot of ground at once.

IS this the right file?? this is the only thing i got after opening the dxdiag program.

Please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files.  Between the errors with Windows Defender and .NET, it's a good idea to be thorough.  Here's how to run them:

• Hit Windows key-X
• Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
• Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
• The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
• After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
• Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
• Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
• Post the message you receive here

Run the .NET 3.5 repair tool as well, since the older .NET isn't covered by those scans.  Despite the description, the tool normally runs just fine in Windows 10, but let me know if it throws an error.  (A screenshot of the error would be helpful.)

Please also let me know whether you have or used to have a third-party antivirus/firewall installed on this computer.

After running PowerShell I got a message that just said that there were no integrity violations detected. I also installed and ran the .net program. Also, i don't have any third-party antivirus software installed. Anything else you can think of? is it possible that its an issue that EA needs to address with a possible patch or update? ive just noticed a good amount of people posting about this topic so since its happening to many people i feel like it has to be something wrong with the game. 

@emmawithrow0  Sims 3 is probably not getting updated any time soon, at least not for Windows.  (There's an update coming at some point to make the game playable in the newest version of macOS, but that's a separate project.)  Since the game does usually run fine in Windows 10, this is more likely to be a system issue.

Please again move your entire Sims 3 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, or you can just trash it if there's nothing in there you want to save.  This will make sure there aren't any new issues with corrupt files.  Try to launch the game a couple times, and if it doesn't work, please run another dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also check the Reliability Monitor for entries related to the crashes.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes.  You'll see a chart of errors and updates, with a column for each day.  (Today is all the way on the right.)  For any entry from today that lists Origin or Sims 4, or that has a timestamp from when you tried to launch the game, click View technical details, copy the information, and paste it into a text document.  (Notepad works fine.)  You can attach the .txt file just as you did your dxdiag.

After deleting the files and running the game a couple of times it still crashes directly after I press play. I ran the command to check for the crashes and although I had had some chrases occur today, they didn't show up on the report. I'm attaching a file of the most recent crash i could find. For some reason, the only day that mentioned the sims 3 or origin was April 11th, although I've been trying to launch it almost every day so there definitely should be more. there's also a copy of the dxdiag i just ran.

@emmawithrow0  The MSVCR80.dll file is a part of the 2005 VC++ runtimes.  It's best to uninstall and reinstall the x86 version, which is the one that the game uses.

Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll through the list to Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, click on the x86 version, and select Uninstall.  Ignore the x64 version, if you have it, and any version from any other year.  You can download a new copy from Microsoft here:

You only need to install the x86 version.

If that doesn't help, the issue might be your AMD Radeon software.  Right-click on the desktop and select Radeon Settings, or Crimson, or whatever similar name you see.  Crate a profile for Sims 3 (TS3.exe) if you don't already have one, and disable all the settings you can find.  This very nice person took some screenshots for me a couple months ago, so you can see more or less what to look for:

You might not have nearly as many options, since you only have an integrated graphics card.  But it's still a good idea to disable all the optional settings first and see if you can get the game to work.

I tried doing both of these things, neither of them worked. Still getting the same crash back to origin. Anything else you can think of? 

@emmawithrow0  Try playing with your computer totally disconnected from the internet.  You can login to Origin and then put it in offline mode before disabling wifi or pulling the ethernet cable.

If that doesn't help, try playing in a new admin user account on your computer.  Try to launch the game at least twice in the new account, then run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
