Hello, yes, I tried setting the graphics on the highest setting. The game practically froze when I did. There was so much lag. I just know that there is something not right somewhere. I think it has a lot to do with the game. You would think with a all the ram I have and the graphics card the game would play but it doesn't. I did play the game on an old Dell computer and it played fine. I had cc and mods and the game ran smoothe. My hard drive went out in that computer so I bought a new one. I just cannot figure it out. I even downloaded a Force ware display gaming driver from Nvidia and still the game will not play. Do you think if I bought another computer with a Nvidia Geforce 730 graphics card the game would play. I saw that it was compatible with the game. If you think so I will give this computer to my husband and just get me another one. I am tired of worrying with it. I have tried everything I know to do except the fix that you offer with changing the sgr files. That is just a little bit too much for me to take on. Again thank you for any advice you can give me. I know if anyone knows you do from all the things you have done for the game.

It should work with the card you have. I myself do not believe that the sgr fix does much so I don't really recommend it anymore but there's people over at the official fourm in the sims 3 section that can help you with that.
So starting through the Nvidia Experience didn't do anything either ? Does it recognize the game ? What settings does it recommend to you ?
