I have it on the disk E and F. I though that the driver might be the problem because my computer DID started to be really slow but I wanted to see if there's anything to do. You reccomend buying a new laptop?

yes I will give you a second reccomendation to get a new computer since microsoft is no longer running XP. You will also need a new computer if you want to play the sims 4. I would try to find a windows 8 computer not windows 8.1 since there are video issues microsoft needs to fix in 8.1

E is almost out of space too so if you have your OS on that (as well as the user files from SIms) that could be a reason for crashing too.
And yes, I would reccomend a new machine. These are my recommondations. More is always better. It depends on what you're using your computer otherwise but for gaming, I think desktops are better since you get stronger machines for less money but that all depends on your budget.
Processor: i5 or i7 with at least 2.5 Ghz (don't get an i3, they have overheating issues)
RAM: at least 6-12 GB RAM, the game can't handle more than 4 but it's always good to have some spare for the graphics card, the OS and other stuff. It depends on the Windows edition how much RAM it can handle.

Operating System: A 64 bit system is a must

Hi, so I didn't buy a new laptop (or desktop) but we did upgrade our laptop to windows 7 and we expanded our memory. I reinstalled all my sims 3 games and I installed sims 3 ambitions. It worked okay, but when I reinstalled all my cc it started crashing again, could that be the problem? I can still play it for a while but then it crashes and goes to desktop with a notification -sims 3 stopped working-
Depends on your custom content. If you have bad stuff, it could cause crashing. Did you try just adding a few things to see if it still crashes ?
(if you need further help with this, I think it would be wise to revoke the solution (options on the post accepted as solution and not the solution) so the helpers actually check your thread.
The problem is there is a big difference from Windows XP and Windows 7. You have to get reference drivers now as HP (Compaq) does not support Windows 7 on that computer. While upgrading the operating system on an older computer may work for business applications, you may not see any improvement (may be worse) with games. Your hard drive storage is partitioned very unusual so it's hard to say if that is causing a problem.
