Game starts lagging, the screen turns black and it says that the launcher has stopped working

Hello fellow simmers, I have a big problem and I've had it before. Recently I downloaded three new expansions from origin and my game is driving me nuts. When I'm playing it's all fine, maybe a bit slow but that's because of all the contents, but then all of the sudden the screen turns black. The mousepointer(the arrow, I don't know what it's called) starts loading, but then it freezes and I can't direct it. It stays like this for a while and then the game just shuts down and I get a messade saying that the launcher has stopped working and I have two options: "Close the window" or "Search for a solution online, then close the window". I never seem able to play any longer than until I've created a sim or moved into a house. 

Please help, this is really frustrating and I've had this problem before but I can't remember how I solved it (I think it involved reinstalling all the games, and I'd like to avoid that if possible). For your information I'm using Windows 7 and my expansion- and stuffpacks are the following: world adventures, ambitions, high end loft stuff, fast lane stuff, late night and most recently universitylife, pets and island paradise.
