I am having the same problem. I read all of the previous posts; here are my answers: 1) Win Vista 2) yes 3) As the Launcher opens, 'Unable to connect to Origin' . Then after I click the play button I get a blank (white or black) window that ultimately says '(not responding)' next to the Sims 3 header. 4) see above 5) yes 6) my base game is the starter pack with L N & HELS 7) Kaperskys 8) majorily have discs, but have 1 downloaded game 9) I have 2 files like that, 1 ends in MDMP the other is a text file- I'll upload it if needed 10) The file has too many characters what info do you need from it to help me? I know my system is extremely old (it was gotten before 2011) but my daughter & I share the game on it. It would be wonderful if I could get it to work before school ends for her next week.

Ok. that sounds like a rather low one (this is before they had the launcher show the base game version only but shows the expansions one. Do you have the disc version of the game ? If so, my suggestion is this: Uninstall your game completely and clean out your registery with ccleaner. Then reinstall base game. DO NOT PATCH THE GAME THROUGH THE LAUNCHER, rather turn off automatic updates right away. Then install HELS, the game will automatically patch to the version that is needed for HELS, allow that. Then install LN. Same again. Let the game update itself to the version LN needs but not further than that. With this, you won't be able to use the online features and many store items won't download but you're probably able to play the game.

Did it ever work on this computer ?

You should also update your graphics drivers. Yours are from 2010. Also lower the settings all the way to the minium to see if that helps.

Your computer is overall low in specs but I'm not too good with AMD CPUs I don't know if that is enough. Trying to find out for you.

Yes it did work on this cpu, up until the latest update. That is when I started having problems. Had to OL Chat with Origin to get any sort of start up, could play the game for a couple of days after that & now 'not responding'. My hubby has made a few changes on my cpu in the past few days (installing Mozilla Fire fox as my primary internet search engine & other things.

Did you update your graphics drivers now ? Maybe it was the last update that put it over the edge.

Do you remember at which version you were when it still worked ?

I had to ask my hubby how to update my drivers. Just did it & my Driver Genius program says that everything is up to date. I have no idea how to lower my settings.
As for what version I was running before the game quit working, I believe it was to the latest update before 6.7.12 (?)
I'll check again to see if I can get the game to work.

Ok. that sounds like a rather low one (this is before they had the launcher show the base game version only but shows the expansions one.

Do you have the disc version of the game ?

If so, my suggestion is this:

Uninstall your game completely and clean out your registery with ccleaner. Then reinstall base game. DO NOT PATCH THE GAME THROUGH THE LAUNCHER, rather turn off automatic updates right away. Then install HELS, the game will automatically patch to the version that is needed for HELS, allow that. Then install LN. Same again. Let the game update itself to the version LN needs but not further than that.

With this, you won't be able to use the online features and many store items won't download but you're probably able to play the game.

My Hubby looked @ my system & said that EVERYTHING is not running well, so I am having to remove/backup everything on my cpu (taking out items that I no longer need) ccleanering the whole shebang & starting from there. Don't think I'll be done 'til after the Gparents visit.
I am going to concider this closed, unless there is a way for me to access my accounts using my hubby's launch into the sims world ( highly doubtful as the game is a non-internet game).
