I did run the game with expansions on this computer before - but it's had a couple more years wear and tear and I've been doing some web design so could be those programs are eating up space. I'll look into that.
I actually can't get the launcher to open - it's opened for me a couple times but after being triggered to by downloading something from the exchange. And it doesn't open consistently that way either.
I think that it may be updated to 1.67 at this point, but I will check if/when I get the launcher to open again.
Sounds like the biggest potential problem you're seeing is low on RAM/CPU, and possibly inadequate graphics drivers? I remember updating the drivers for this game before, and my husband added more RAM to this computer.
Too bad - Sims 4 sounds pretty exciting but it may be quite a stretch for me to buy a new computer for one game. Still, gotta love our Sims! 🙂 Thanks again! Guinevere
Specs for Sims 4 are not out but I hear they don't want them to be too high. We'll see.

This is just for testing purposes to see if the game itself works.
If you bought the base game after September 2012, this method will not work.
