Gardening Skill opportunity in Dragon Valley can't be completed.

usually that  "... can not complete the opportunity A Bag of Produce because one of the targets is no longer available."  means either the sim you were to deliver too either the game moved them out of town or killed them off or just as you got the call for the opportunity the "target" had aged up if they were an elder it might have been time for their demise so basically the sims that you had to do the opportunities with/for are no longer available in your game

so what you can try is this save your game with the  use as new name for your game so you will still have your original save then cancel the opportunity and wait for the game to reroll the opportunity or you could try the via edit town move out move back in to see if it will kick the opportunities back to working

I've tried using different saves to prompt it, and I started a new game just to test it out too. My husband is also having the same issue on his own pc and game where he can't complete gardening opportunities (he's can't complete the cheese one.) 

I'm hesitant to move out of DV and then back in after the issues that we had moving to DV from Riverview. The main reason I started a new game was due to my previous game breaking after the move. I'll try and see if I can pick up the opportunity in another world and move to DV to complete it. Maybe I can speed ahead in game time and get Master Controller to force it again...

MC should kick it in...hey are your mods (any and all you use ) up to date the same patch level as yours ?

Yep, they are. Double checked that this morning! No luck on getting that opportunity to stick.. 

so hmmm i wonder if one of two things is going on either repalce the rabbithole as one rabbithole... or there was some save game corruption which i'm not familear with what causes that   but crin has a thread on that here

I did wonder about that possibility but it's happening on fresh games with new families,  and it's not just on my pc/instalation either.  My husband has had it happen in 2 successive games now with a clean install (he doesn't use cc). I even redownloaded  DV in case the general files were damaged during installation. What's perplexing me is that it's happening on two machines with separate accounts/installs and we both get the same problem that we can reproduce at will, with any gardening opportunity. 

My next step will be uninstalling WA and Ambitions on the off chance that there's a conflict somewhere. I can't imagine install order would make a difference but you never know. I found Crin's blog and their responses to others which is why I tried some of the steps  that I did, like replacing the rabbit holes.  

with the smis 3 install order does not matter  and since you both have the same issue....back up your stiff befor ehand saves etc i wonder if trying the factory reset would work rather than th euninstalling einsattly and namually checking for the left overs

Nope, a reset didn't help either ( I followed all instructions with the exception of the one mod to force the opportunities.) I started a new game with a premade family, Aislin Walsh (a cook), got her reading a gardening book until level 2, forced a gardening opportunity and the same thing happened.

Out of curiosity I figured I'd read more cooking books and send her to work and try using debug cheats to force an opportunity there but she was unable to go to work. There is definitely something odd going on with the rabbit holes! Earlier today my hubby noticed that he could complete some gardening opps at random so I gave it a go. Out of a selection that required turn ins at the supermarket, diner and restaurant, a few would work but there was no pattern. I would force the opportunities (like the one delivering potatoes) and sometimes I would let me, other times it wouldnt. This is all very frustrating!

edit: I stripped out that one last mod and tried again.. Still unable to even get to work at the restaurant. 😕mileyfrustrated:

 i so understand the frustration some of them make me grrrr and spend hours trying to figure it out  if the sim is having issues going to work that can be caused by a work outfit so usually for that to test is have them change into the work outfit before the carpool comes for them and or go to the dresser plan outfit if they have one work outfit then plan anew one if they have more than one delete the extras i do recall that sometime ago a player was an issue with the science center for an opportunity too but couldn't complete it  the sim couldn't enter the building what worked for the player was to go to edit town and grab the building and move it back a tile or two the opportunity wss naturally enough cancelled because of this but it rerolled and the player was able to complete it then

off the top of my head if you have delphys dashboard run that to see if there is a mod conflict
