Zack, I just added ambitions. The only thing Im finding jerky right now is edge scrolling. CAS is running smoother than the game which is odd. The game usually always runs smoother than CAS
Cas is running smoother for me as well. I have a ton of clothes, and even when they are loading i get a stable 59 FPS.
- Anonymous12 years ago
So CAS s running OK for you with fps and not the game. Is this not the strangest thing. fps right now is working for me. Buy a high tec computer and the game works backwards. CAS is running well and the actual game not???!!!! LOL . I just added late night and still edge scrolling jerky.
I am now adding supernatural which has more animation and . With each EP I am checking the new town added. Let you know if my fairy are all distorted
Update. Supernatural when your entering the town before you can actualy play is jerky could make you dizzy. In game only issue edge scrolling. I even added seasons andgain so far only edge scrolling. Its summer so I don't know how it will handle rain, snow etc.
Was IP the only issue for you or should I say when the issue started? Im afraid to load that one

Zack just noticed an error in my dxdiag for 64 usb. I know this is my mouse and maybe my edge scrolling problem. Right now I have a logitech mouse. It is set at 32 bit but if I update the drivers on the mouse to 64 the TS3W file does not like this mouse. I went through this before on my old game and had to delete the 64 mouse driver.
Are you using a ROG mouse?
I have a razer imperator 2012. Brand new but i don't know what rog is...
Yes a few weeks after adding IP did the issue arise.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) has their own mouses.
And did you just add Island Parades or you actually played it when the problem hit.
BTW the jerking issue that your getting has been a problem for many people with high end cards since 2009. No fix. Why EA can not fix edge scrolling is beyond me. I will ask them tomorrow.
I got it after playing the game after adding IP i was not even in isla paridiso when the problem hit. I was playing in sunset valley.
- Anonymous12 years ago
oh thats not good I need IP to make my saved games work eveing though I am not playing IP. I need some items in it! What to do??? I have to think about this, sounds risky if I add it
- 12 years ago
However, I did just buy a new computer and had it for a only a few weeks when the problem hit as well. And so, it my not have been IP at all.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Then there was that guy Paul in here who also posted a few days back who has almost my same ASUS laptop only he has 8.1, he had the 3d screen and I don't. He also has the 780 card and IP was giving him problems though I think he was actually playing it. His fps was working. The only thing with your issue I do not understand is why vsync wont work in game for you but works in CAS. That is just strange
- Anonymous12 years ago
Zack one more thing have you tried cleaning out your Cashe Files to see if it might kick in your vsync in game.
deleting these files under ea folder in documents
CASPartCashe.package
scriptCashe.package
socialCashe.packag
compositorCashe.package
simCompositorCashe.package
I delete those files every time I start a new game or even enter the game and exit. Every time you start the game it will add new files.
i deleted them the other day they seem to make the FPS drop when loading things worse. The Vsync keeps the framerate under 60 though. I have Adaptive Vsync so maybe thats why it's being weird.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Deleting those files actually helps clean the game so It should not make it worse. I clean mine all the time. My fps stays at 60 both in game and CAS. I have not added IP though and I don't think Im going to.
Mine is set on adaptive and stays at 60 but maybe try another setting and see if that helps??? I just don't know why your vsync is not working in game
Maybe you have a corrupt game?? Have you checked in your save files game to see if there is any saved game that has bad on it. If you do delete it
- 12 years ago
Yeah, i have looked for .bad files and didn't see any. Plus i started a whole new save multiple times trying to fix this.
- Anonymous12 years ago
I had an open case with EA, I did report back to them your issue with the fps not working, how bad the game shakes on edge scrolling for both of us. How Cas works better for us than the game LOL Did let them know this problem has been reported since 2009. I doubt we are going to get a fix unless they know some miracle cure. Ill let you know how they respond.
I tired a clean reinstall with just up to Uni with my old save that i first used when i tramferred to this computer. No improvement.
- Anonymous12 years ago
I got to a higher up at EA. Sent them what they needed. I probably won't hear back from them until monday. Will keep you posted.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Update they got back to me and want me to start playing the game and report back. Im going to downoad Island Paradise and see if my game gets worse. I can always remove it. Ill keep you posted

Zack, one more thing have you tried switching mouses? Is your mouse set at 64 bit?I know this game does not like my gaming mouse update to 64 bit from my old computer. On this computer I just have my gaming mouse at 32 bit. I switched out several mice no diffrerence. get the same responce with the arrow keys as I do any mouse I use. I just wonder if your getting more lag than I am by having a 64 bit mouse???
I tired switching my mouse out. I got a new 2012 razor imperator and switched it with my old mouse and i didnt see any change. But i am not sure how to tell if my mouse it 64 bit. I always use the center mouse button to rotate the camera, but I will try with the UI and see if it doesn't lag as much.
- Anonymous12 years ago
How to tell if your mouse is 64 bit, possibly device manager?.I dont have my gaming mouse on this computer at the moment. How I figured out my mouse was only 32, I went to the logitec web and downloaded the 64 bit but 64 bit download conflicts with the TS3W file. Since you have a gaming mouse you may find driver updates on the razor web for your mouse. And your on windows 7. Im on windows 8 and cant find anything LOL LOL LOL!
I found the folder for my razor driver in Program FIles (x86) which I guess means the driver is 32 bit. and there is only one option for the driver download.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Ok I would not worry about it then and a update to 64 bit mouse might conflict with your game worse so just leave that mouse where it is. I need to try and find a mouse with a 3.0 USB since my computers USB ports are all 3.0. It wont make a diffrence but Im getting pnp errors because of my mouse being 2.0

Zack, do you know how to change the Nvidia card from intergraded to dedicated? It seems my card switched during a video card update. I read my manual but the instructions do not match up with the Nvidia control panel I have installed. Thanks! I looked at your DxDiag and your card reads intergraded too. Is yours supposed to be dedicated or intergraded?
It should be dedicated It's not like a chipset. At least i dont think.
- Anonymous12 years ago
well, your DXDiag, That guy Paul who's thread you were also posting in has intergraded and so does mine. My Nvidia conrtol panel states I have Dedicated video memory 3072mb (3gb) GDDR5, then it states system video memory 0. Shared System memory 7894mb. (8gb) but my system has 16 gb ram????? WT????
