@thatgeekgirl: Older bug. Sometimes the beds get corrupted. Glad you solved it.
@ZeekSlider: Maybe it's really on purpose that Sims with 0 relationship get deleted since those relationships were really cluttering up the memory. Maybe the introduced the new bug in the process. To early to tell. Thanks for the report.

@SilverSerpent: Stupid question but on what setting do you have your free will ? Sounds like a problem that has been reported a while ago where Sims seem to loose their free will. Never found a solution though. Thanks for the other reports.
@Rmk375: Could you check in your documents folder, how many entries you now have in the folder InstalledWorlds. Also try deleting any entries from the folder WorldCaches. Are you missing any other downloads ?

You might want to try if the error goes away if you undo DEP just to see if those are related at all.

A note behalf of my questions: I'm not trying to blame bugs on mods/hacks/cc but I do need to make sure that's not the problem. They have really changed a lot this time round and it could be that ANY CC is not valid anymore.
Also please apologize if I ask you the same questions you've already stated. I can't keep everyone's specs in mind. Please restate your situation with every bug (@Zeek: No, this goes not for you).
Thanks to everyone to keep this thread at a non-complaint level.
To recap. I'm on a mac was playing LN with mods and CC and everything was swell. I'm on a macpro with 12 gigs of ram, so my machine is WAY over qualified! I removed all mods and CC, trashed the usual cache files and installed GENS. Then I let it patch itself. First, I made the mistake of trying to play an old town. It was the town with NO CC OR MODS that I had made when LN came out. It was buggy from the get go. So I started a new town. BUggy. I then added the NEW mastercontroller (what the hell, I figured). I do think it was worse, but it was bad before.
Finally, I just replaced the whole application from a pre-generations copy on my time machine disk. (And I restored my mods folder as well, so everything was happy again.)
The bugs were as follows.
Sims getting stuck in an action (I had a quicky wedding and THREE sims got stuck clapping and cheering. Had to reset them.
EVERY time I started play I got 30 t0 50 notification about some sims backround. (Ethan will start bass at level three since he played the xylophone-- that kind of thing.
During romantic interactions, Sims would bounce out of the house! They appeared on the street.
Sims would forget cued interactions.
So, to recap: disappearing and reset sims, stuck sims, TONS of gratuitous notifications, forgotten cues.
I know myself and in a couple of days I will probably try again (particularly since I know I can restore everything from Time machine.) Don't want to just give up on the EP. (I don't install all the EPS. I install all the stuff packs. But I installed ambitions and after a week, uninstalled, not cause it was buggy, but it bored me. Never installed WA.
I was too frustrated when I initially posted to go into that much detail.
