Glich in game

Ok, i was playing happily when out of nowhere all the sims in the household exited their beds at the same time. I'm not sure what happened but I tried putting them back to bed & it happened again. I got cranky & closed the game down. Now that I have calmed a touch, I start the game, all normal & when I get into the game (family) I want, all the sims in the household's pictures aren't there (usually on the left hand side). I've tried everything like updating (that's another issue all on its own), restarting the computer, cleaning up disk space but nothing has worked. After over 3 hours of trying I'm about to throw the laptop across the room. Please someone help me.

    I'm giving all this a go. I started the game & most of the sims (except 2) in the family i'm playing came up on the left hand side, which I was excited about, but unfortunately the exiting out of bed still occurs. I'm going to keep on going but if all else fails I'll just start again. Thanks for your advice.

    Tip: Always do Save As to save the game. I do it and save my games as the current date. This creates multiple files. So if your game corrupts you can go back to the most recent saved version instead. Never jsut hit Save. 

    Plus NEVER SAVE and QUIT. Just Quite after you do the save as. 

    I lost an entire family with several generations and a whole years worth of work to a corrupt file ☹️   The above was a tip i found on a help forum.

    well I managed to fix everything up. I saved it as a different file this time when all turned out good. Thank again for your help.
