I have a new MacBook Pro with Retina screen,
2012 15" Retina
2.6GHz Intel Core i7
16GB RAM
Of course, I've got the Graphics switching between
Intel HD Graphics 4000 and
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
Plus OSX10.8 Mountain Lion
The problems with Seasons have been endless... Crashing, graphics, saving... This thread is obviously about the Graphics, which I will address only.
I have no CC, no mods, no nothing.
Fall is the main issue for me as well.
I had a family living in Sunset Valley, in one of the pre-build starter homes that are already a part of the neighbourhood. When they lived there, Fall was not an issue, leaves fell correctly, and the camera worked fine.
Since moving to a new house, when Fall came around again, the graphics started to get buggy. Mine is at certain levels of zoom. I can see fine when zoomed completely in, or completely out, but the whole section in the centre gets the strange colours and coverings.
Once in Build/Buy Modes, the distortions disappear.
Rebooting my computer has not helped.
If I skip Fall, there is a period of approx 3 Sim hours between Summer and Winter when the trees lose their leaves, and then the graphics are correct again.
Lots that are non-user-made are fine.
THERE IS A (SEMI) SOLUTION
If you delete all the trees, bushes, plants, etc off your lot, the distortion will stop.
It’s a pretty suck solution, as the coolest bit of Fall is the changing leaves, but it lets you play again. And the other EA-made lots still all work with trees, so if you really want to rake leaves you can visit one of them?
I hope this helps. Have any of you guys made any comments to the EA Help Centre? The more of us that complain there, the more might happen? Because we all know they don’t watch the Mac Forums…
