Help ! Sims 3 University Life ! (Open classes don't work)

    Hi, I have to agree that reinstalling the EP isn't likely to change anything. It sounds to me like the issue, although difficult to pinpoint, is with your one ongoing game's instance of Uni World, not the program files or anything further up.

    On the MasterController reset of the world idea that was suggested prior, it's Uni World that needs to be reset not your homeworld. If you are indeed using NRaas mods, the MC Reset Everything would need to be run while active play is in Uni World, not the homeworld, and it's the Admin Bldg that stands in for City Hall so the command for Town > Reset Everything should be run from there (or the Admin Bldg's map tag, it might also work from an in-game computer).

    If that's no help, then we move on to Plan B. On a test or Save As copy of your ongoing game, at a point within the game where your actively being played sims are at home not at Uni, and while the game is not running, try pulling out the Sims University nhd file from the one save folder. The tiny ExportDB file with a similar name that would accompany it doesn't matter, that can stay or go, but it's the actual nhd file that should be pulled out. A new instance of Uni World should spawn where the used one was on the next attempt to travel there/register for a new term within that ongoing game (NRaas Traveler, ErrorTrap, and Overwatch still highly recommended for this maneuver). If this test is successful, whether your game is playable from there or not depends on how invested you were in the original instance of Uni World and its sims because those will all be gone now, and the structure and population of Uni World will revert to where they were the first time you saw it. Your own sims' academic progress should not be affected. If this doesn't work out for ongoing play, then you can always revert to your game save as it was before attempting to have the Uni World nhd file respawned.

@dAnc3_of_th3_qua  Okay, then you really do need to limit your fps in-game, or you risk burning out your card.  The first step is to try Nvidia's built-in Control Panel, but that doesn't always work, and it will never work in windowed mode.  If Control Panel doesn't do the trick, Nvidia Inspector (free download) is your next option.  Here's a visual of the settings you want (under the spoilers):

When I suggested that an object might be blocking your sims' access to classes, I didn't necessarily mean one that you could see.  Sims sometimes leave behind action jigs, which are invisible but could block a door or a narrow pathway.  The only way to flush them without mods is to save the building to the library, bulldoze the lot, and replace the building.  If you want to test whether invisible jigs are the issue, you can add doors at random other spots on one of the classroom buildings and see if your sims can get in through those doors instead.  You may need to walk them right to the new doors to keep them from trying to route through the old ones.  But replacing the building is the only way to fix the issue permanently.

Edit:  I just saw your second edit, and action jigs seem less likely.  Still, replacing the buildings could shake something loose.  It might take a day for everything to reset, but it's certainly worth trying.

But it is also possible that your existing save is corrupt.  If so, how hard do you want to try to save it?  Since the clean folder didn't work, and the new test save rules out the possibility of a problem with the program files, your only other options are to revert to an earlier save, before the issue surfaced, or to try to use mods to fix things.

I mean, I really played this save for a long time now, I'm kinda angry about this. Guess I can't do anything with it. Either way, thank you for your answers, you've been of great help

    @dAnc3_of_th3_qua  You can do something about this save, if you want.  Bulldozing and replacing the buildings may help, and it's really not much effort.  If you want to put in a bit more time, I've mentioned that certain mods can give you additional tools to troubleshoot your issues.  But it's entirely up to you.

    The one thing that you really need to do is to cap your fps rates.  Your card could easily burn itself out if you don't, and in the meantime, excessively high framerates could cause some performance issues in your game.  Even though it likely doesn't have anything to do with your original issue, it's something that does have to be addressed.

      Already solved my fps problem, now it's capped at 60. I tried replacing the buildings and waited a couple of Sims days, but the problem is still present. I could try with some mods, do you know any?

        @dAnc3_of_th3_qua  As a matter of fact, I use several mods, all from NRaas, that could help you.  ErrorTrap and Overwatch are for general cleanup; Register manages role and service sims, and Traffic manages cars and other spawning vehicles.  Traveler should also be added for its ability to prevent travel errors; it would be a shame for you to fix your game issues only to have your sims not be able to get home.  MasterController will be especially useful in your case for its reset abilities.  Since you mentioned you've used mods in the past, you likely know that you have to delete the scriptCache file in Documents after installing.  (It's a good idea to delete all five cache files regularly, although a clean folder would have taken care of that for you already.)

        There's no guarantee that this will save your game, but here's the best approach:

        • First of all, make a copy or two of your save, and move the extra(s) somewhere else.
        • Use MasterController to reset each lot that's giving you trouble.  Click on the ground of the lot, NRaas > MC > Reset Lot.
        • Use MC to reset the professors, your own sims, and anyone else not behaving.  Click on each sim directly, NRaas > MC > Advanced > Reset Sim, or click on City Hall, NRaas > MC > Sim > Advanced > Reset Sim (press X to see a list of all sims in town, or use the filters to narrow it down).
        • Use MC to reset the town.  Click on City Hall, NRaas > MC > Town > Reset Everything.
        • "Save as," quit without saving, clear your five cache files again, and reload.  Play through a sim-day or two, to give ErrorTrap and Overwatch a chance to do their thing.

        If this still doesn't help, the other thing to do is to send your sims home and try again.  You can use MC to remove moodlets and progress towards degrees, if necessary; you could even remove the underlying world file within your save to create a fresh instance of the University world.  This last step requires a bit more maneuvering, though, so if you want to try it, it's best to ask for advice at NRaas.
