@Marlborus With NRaas RelationshipPanel installed, you should be able to hold the control key and click on the image of the dog in your sim's relationship panel to delete it.
If that's not working, you can try using Total Annihilation on the dog: click on City Hall or a computer and select NRaas > MC > Sim > Advanced > Total Annihilation. I'm not sure MC will find enough data to list the dog for TA, but it's easy to check.
