How can I keep a Sim retired?

Rather than generate a new Sim to fill a role, the game keeps taking my retired Sims and putting them in roles of proprietor and paparazzi. I've used both MC and Register to remove them, but for some reason the game keeps handing them those roles as if they're on a rotation. I'd prefer those roles to be filled by homeless Sims rather than my residents.

    @Hyerlobos  Is Register set to allow residents to be assigned to roles?  The setting is under Register > Allow Resident Assignment.  Please also check the Allow Immigration setting: this should let Register immigrate a new sim to fill a role if necessary rather than taking one of your existing sims.

    @puzzlezaddict Yeah, I do have Resident Assignment on because I also have residents assigned as a stylist and tattooist. Don't suppose there's a works around? Will it remove them from those assignments if I turn it off?

    I tried it and it seems those two are unaffected. Thanks. It was getting to be really annoying having to remove them every time a resident was assigned to a position I didn't want them in.

    @Hyerlobos  I'm glad to hear it worked.  I believe the Register setting only affects new assignments, so you should be fine, and if you ever want another resident sim in a role position, you should be able to assign them manually.
