How can I keep a Sim retired?

Rather than generate a new Sim to fill a role, the game keeps taking my retired Sims and putting them in roles of proprietor and paparazzi. I've used both MC and Register to remove them, but for some...

    @Hyerlobos  Is Register set to allow residents to be assigned to roles?  The setting is under Register > Allow Resident Assignment.  Please also check the Allow Immigration setting: this should let Register immigrate a new sim to fill a role if necessary rather than taking one of your existing sims.

I tried it and it seems those two are unaffected. Thanks. It was getting to be really annoying having to remove them every time a resident was assigned to a position I didn't want them in.

@Hyerlobos  I'm glad to hear it worked.  I believe the Register setting only affects new assignments, so you should be fine, and if you ever want another resident sim in a role position, you should be able to assign them manually.
