How do I get my registration code on origin for sims 3 into the future

I recently got the Sims 3: Into the Future expansion pack. It made me wait 3-4 hours before it said that the installation was complete. A link then popped up telling me that I needed a registration code to install the game. I never got a registration code because I expected it to be downloaded through origin. What I need to know is if I just got scammed and should ask for a refund because I did get a confirmation email telling me that my purchase had been made, however no registration code was given. I need to know where to get that code.
