  • @MadisonsSim Most of them are safe, just be careful to follow creators' install instructions and take into consideration warnings if there are any. Mods usually come in .package format, and CC comes as .package or Sims3Pack (which you install through the launcher).
  • @MadisonsSim  The short answer is, any mod hosted at NRaas is safe, and there are other creators whose work has been extensively tested and demonstrated to work as intended.  The best way to sort them is to ask for recommendations on a site like NRaas or Mod the Sims, where there are a number of people who could give you a better idea of what's out there.

The long answer is, there are a few different reasons mods might not be safe.  One is the obvious: the downloads themselves might not be safe.  That's not a problem on well-known sites (NRaas, Mod the Sims, and Sims Asylum for example), but it's never a good idea to download mods from a random third-party site without doing your homework first.  Another reason a mod might not be safe is if it's outdated and doesn't work on your patch level.  Always check the download page to see whether a given mod is compatible with patch 1.67/1.69.

The third reason a mod might not be safe is if it's not well-made, as in, it introduces or changes data that could end up corrupting your saves.  That's when asking questions is especially important.  But like I said, there are sites where you can get information on any mods you might be considering, or ask which mods would help you accomplish whatever you want to do in-game.

Another good idea is to check other users' comments on those mods; you might run into reports of conflicts, compatibility issues, or other errors, or they might give positive feedback if the mods performs well.
  • Hello does any one know any good, and safe mod sites for the Sims 3. I really would like to have pregnancy and bigger household mods.

@MadisonsSim  I've merged your post with your earlier thread on the same issue.  In addition to what I wrote earlier, I want to add that you should definitely NOT use the Hospital Overhaul mod from Sims MX.  It was never updated for current patch levels and can easily corrupt your saves.

There are several ways to have bigger households, depending on how you want to add the sims.  Here's a summary of how to accomplish that with NRaas mods, which are extremely safe and extensively tested:

I personally would never use AwesomeMod because of how many changes it makes that are not user-controllable.  And while quite safe as well, it can't be removed from an ongoing save without a special procedure.

There are ways to adjust pregnancy settings with NRaas mods as well, but which one(s) you'd want would depend on what exactly you're trying to accomplish.  You could ask on the NRaas site, particularly in the Chatterbox section, and people would let you know which mods to add and which settings to change.
