All the (.rar) means is that the creator used winRAR to compress the file(s), hense the (.rar) file extension. If they had used WinZIP it would have been (.zip), etc... The files need to be extracted from the .rar or .zip file using the same type of compression application. So if you have winRAR, winZIP, 7zip, or whatever, you use that program to extract the .package files from the .rar file.
