Humble Bundle Sims 3 Starter Redemption on Steam?

Hello!

I got the Sims 3 starter pack in humble bundle and i saw that steam has sims 3. Why dosen't the key work on steam?

I mean it's the same game just different programs running it... Seems strange to me.

I prefer steam over origin. Much smother and easier to use.
