I can't launch Sims 3 after installation.
I just purchased the game and installed it and whenever I launch the game via EA, the launcher loads and displays this message "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details". (I have attached an image of this error).
I have tried repairing the game via EA but this has not changed anything. I also can't uninstall the game via EA for some reason.
I have tried what a few other similar threads have suggested by installing Dirextx9 but this has also not changed the outcome. (Thread I am referencing)
I am on Windows 10 with an i7-4790K CPU and a Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB graphics card
Any help would be appreciated as I'm not sure where to go from here
@SASSoldier9 The "error during startup" and the patch level 0 showing in the launcher both point to broken registry entries, which is unusual in a new install but not impossible. I'd suggest clearing the EA App's cache and repairing again.

If that doesn't help, please uninstall both Sims 3 and the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and restart your computer before reinstalling. Create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 3. The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games.
If you use a third-party antivirus, please disable it, temporarily of course, before installing Sims 3, and don't reenable it until you've tested the game once. As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
