I Can't Update My Sims 3 Game Without Connecting To Origin First But Don't Know How To Connect It???

Okay so im really fed up with my origin ever since it started! i have reinstalled my origin and is up to date (i think i wouldnt know how to update it if so) but i think it would automatically do it when i re-installed it, i have also reinstalled my Sims 3 game and wiped off everything any old games or cc so theres nothing to stop it but when i go on my sims 3 game launcher and the 'Game Update' button the 'Update Now' button is grey so i cant click it, when i click the 'Refresh' button it loads and then comes up saying cant connect to Origin and i've logged into both origin and sims 3 but doesnt change it, its been this way for months now and i don't know how i can update my game, i have verision 1.42.130.019001 and i use to have the new one but i dont know how i lost it but can anyone help me get the new version or get my sims 3 game to connect to Origin,

Any help would be really appreciated x

also i have no other expansion packs so i have nothing to mess it up
