I need help,asap!! Sims 3 MAC

Hello ! So I bought The Sims 3 yesterday with 2 expansion packs on MacBook OSX ( Show Time, Late Night , i bought it on Origin btw )

Everything worked fine with the base game and the show time expansion, until I try and download Late Night,

I download it, the install starts, then when it comes to summary, boom ! It disappears, telling me that it shutted down,

but in origin it still said ''play'' , so I click on the play button, it asks me for an update, I say yes.. now afterwards it says ''You cannot apply this patch on

this version of the application '', i'm like wat da hell?

So I search on the internet , call EA and they all tell me to download the patch manually ( digital download ) , I download it, STILL doesn't work.

Recalled EA, then they tell me to uninstall the sims 3 and origin, I do it, re-installed the sims 3 , re-installed Late Night, and now I get the message ''

Some of the files have been changed! Please re-install.''

I'm kinda fed up and my patience is a bit low right now... and I would likely accept any help. Thank you!

    Hi

I can appreciated your frustration but please keep in mind that we are just players like yourself, trying to assist others in our spare time, so you may  need to wait for a while for a response, but we will get back to you.

I would advise that you cleanly uninstall the game and Origin (see instructions below). Then try again to download through Origin (see instructions also, which give info on the best way to do this). Get the base game installed, patched and test that it works before starting to add expansions (and if you use TimeMachine - make a backup at this point so you can go back to a working base game if something goes wrong with your exapnsions).

If you have further problems, post again.

    Uninstalling cleanly

When you uninstall TS3 games on your Mac using the uninstaller, the game leaves behind stray files and isn't completely removed from your computer. These files may conflict with future installations. It is best to completely remove them. BluebellFlora's website provides a guide on how to do this:

    http://bluebellflora.com/the-sims-3-on-a-mac/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-on-a-mac/

After cleanly uninstalling, install the base game and patch it up to date. If you cannot update via the Launcher, download and apply the latest cumulative manual patch (called the superpatch) for Mac.

Check that your game works properly. Then install any EPs and SPs that you own, in order of release date.

To download and install games through Origin:

Download and install the Origin client for Mac and make sure it is up-to-date. If you already have Origin on your Mac but are having problems with downloading or installing games, delete the client and download a new copy (this sometimes fixes issues with downloading). The latest version can be downloaded from here: http://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download

Additional advice on how to download games (thank you Tremayne for this tip):
When downloading from Origin, do NOT use the first install icon. Move your cursor over the game cover and click on the information (letter i) and then click on the install button from there. For some reason, downloads from Origin frequently become corrupted. Using the i reduces the chance of your download being corrupted. If you have already been unfortunate and have a corrupted download, then it is important to remove all traces of this before trying again, by doing a thorough, clean uninstallation first.

Are you running anti-virus software or any clean-up applications? If so, disable these, as they might be deleting files that Origin needs. A fast, stable internet connection will also help you.

General help for when your game is installed:

The Mac helper is usually not on until tomorrow. I hope you can wait until then. You will have to uninstall your game manually and do a clean install and you need an experienced mac palyer to help you with that.  I could post you the link how to do this per EA but I was told by Mac players that it's more complicated than what EA has posted.
