3 things worth mentioning. One is kind of lengthy, sorry about that...
1. Bots lose trait chips when evicting the household or splitting the household. This happens to bots that I have built and bots that I purchased and upgraded. This also happens in both my homeworld and in OL.
2. I originally purchased a future home in OL with a single sim. She then got bots and had kids and so on. I then traveled back to IP. If I travel with the whole family to OL things are just as you'd expect. If I take my one adult sim to the future without the bots or the kids, my default home is basecamp. I still own my future home and I can interact with everything there, but I can't "Move to Private Lot" or use the "Go Home" interaction, because my sim will go to basecamp. I also can't invite sims over, because they show up at basecamp instead of my house. (I have not taken my adult sim to OL by herself, then gone home, and then taken the whole family to the future, so I don't know if the basecamp being my "home" is permanent or not.) Further testing is required to find the extent of this issue.
3. If I use the Time Remote (LTR) to trigger Dystopia and then use it to trigger Utopia or Normal Future, I keep the meteor storms from Dystopia!!! They will happen the same as seen in the Dystopian Future. There are two work arounds that I have found for this issue:
A. The first work around is use the time portal to Reset the Future. WARNING: DOING THIS RESETS ALL THE CHANGES THAT YOU HAVE MADE TO THE FUTURE!!! If you choose to do this, you should first use Edit Town to save any lots that you have made changes to to your library. THIS INCLUDES ANY HOMES THAT YOU HAVE PURCHASED! Upon returning to the future, you will still own any homes that you have purchased, but any changes you have made to them will revert to the default house that came with the game. This will also remove any relationships that you have built with future sims (including your descendents) and (if you have seasons) will revert you to the default 7 day seasons at the start of summer.
*Side note: This option also allowed my sim to "Choose a Home" upon arriving in OL and I was able to have my single sim move into the house that I had purchased for her (instead of basecamp), but without any of the changes I had made to it.
B. Use the Time Almanac to Trigger this Event and restore the future to Normal Future. This will allow you to keep your relationships and changes but remove the effects of Dystopia. When I did this, it was a quickly completed quest that then allowed me to travel to the future without having to deal with the meteor storms. When I did this, I traveled to the Normal Future, stayed overnight, traveled home and then used the Time Remote to trigger Utopia and then traveled to the future to enjoy it. I'm not sure that traveling to the future while it's normal is necessary to "reset" the future to it's proper state, but since I was having meteor storms both there and in Utopia, I thought it was best to go see if they were stopped in both.
Hope this helps anyone having issues and I'm hoping that the basecamp issue can be fixed, because I'd really like for my house to be my house!!!!
Thanks Crin for helping us out (again!) and making the bug thread. We'd be lost without you!
