natan5how I haven't seen any other reports of Simport not working, and while it's not all that popular, I do think enough players still use it that someone would have noticed the issue by now.
As a test, please please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you can accept a Simport sim and they show up in your game.
I tested with a fresh user folder, and I got the same result as before: when I pressed the button to accept the hosting request, nothing happened, and the hosting request disappeared from my simport book, not even entering simport mode. Also, sheesh the game looks BAD without my user folder in
If you don't think simport is offline, then my only options are to reinstall my game (probably not something I'm gonna do, especially since I've already repaired my game files, which should have mostly the same effect, I believe), or that I'm somehow banned? Because I've had five separate hosting requests, from two different friends, all of which bugged out and failed to work in ways I've been unable to find anyone else online talk about. I somehow doubt they all bugged out from random chance.
