Lost

Where is the best place to go. I got this in the humble bundle and have never tried the Sims before. I am getting fustrated pretty fast since I have only played it about 3 times I have had someone steal things from the house twice. I have not accomplished anything noticeable.

All in all I feel I am missing a lot and the in game tutorials at least the ones I have tried following are worthless. (I.E. To cook better go to the library and purchase a book on cooking, I went to the library and do not see anywhere to purchase stuff, I interacted with book cases and nada)

Some place to go or some way to get real help would be great. Like how to stop the thief or call the police or what ever they added to counter them, or is it a guarantee when you see the van drive up just ignore the items are guaranteed to be taken no matter what.

    you use the phone to call the police the phone is found in your sims personal inventory i looks like  back pack click the bag to find the phone

    the van is the repo man your sim has to pay bills if the bill is not paid then the repo van will arrive and take back items to the value of the bil (happens in real life too ) to avoid the repo watch your mail box if anything is in the mail box a little red flag pops up click the mailbox you then have options pay bill\

    edit to add your sim can also get a part time job or full time to earn money or if depending on what skills you want for them butthe gardner or angler can sell what they grow or catch at the grocery store to earn money too

    your sim is hungary click the fridge-quick meal or click the stove-cook options of macs and cheese or slad to start with the better your sim gets at cooking the more meal options show up

    skill books are bought at the book store skills books are handy for handy sims to repair items that break down sink, baths, showers, telly, etc

    i always have one sim in the house either male or female with the brave trait they will tackle the burglar

    you really do not need to buy the books to learn most of the skills as your sim will learn them as they go along for example cooking or gardening you can alos send your sim to a class for example logic they will learn to play chess then they need to master the skill take a class in cooking at the bistro or dinner etc

    if you want a sim to be a gardenr take a class at the science place grow your own fruit and veg you will get some seeds from the garding class to get you started on growing go to the supermarket to buy the rest of the plants to plant and grow once a sim gets to level 5 plant they can plant other plants it will tell you as go along

    have a sim that is an angler catch your own fish

    so a gardner and an angler means good eating for your sims

    hmm repo man I need to find out how to pay the bills it seems. I have never been under $1,000 so I have the money but never saw anything about a bill system. Thanks I will have to start checking the mail box and see what all is going on. And thanks for the link

    It was the repo man I never noticed the flag on the mailbox. So that part is all good. I am getting better now but I have 1 more question (multiple parts of the same thing though lol). The icons in the top left I am having issues with. I know if I click on the picture it cancels what is there. Sometimes if I am doing one action and I pick a new one it cancels the first and starts the second, other times it Ques the second and finishes the first. Also some icons I can drag open and add more time like sleeping and sometimes dishes will allow me to Clean all in the room and sometimes not. There is no consistancy in things in the top left action area. The final part is when you are sleeping for example and it says "Fully rested at 10am" is there a way to have them wake up right at the 10am and not oversleep per say?

    i get that too when i'm queing up actions (which you can q up 8 in a row ) some will just cancel out  i hit the p which will pause the game i q up again then hit p to unpause usually that works most of the time lol if you have 3 or plates lying around click each one clean up to make sure a sim won't oversleep even if the rest bar is paritally green click the bed sleep  option (otherwise sims will not go to bed and will keep going untill they pass out yep it happens they'll have a few zzzz on the floor once they pass out you have to wait for them to get up then tell them bed )  so if want your sim to wake up at a certain time you click on the bed option sleep once the sim is asleep  then hover over the icon in the corner  have sleep until fully rested 9am depending on what time you send them to bed at

    also in the buy mode items are in order by price lowest to highest that goes for anything in buy mode so beds for one the cheaperst beds will give your sims the bad nights sleep moodlet the better the bed the better the sleep

    p.s.

    in everyone of my games i have sim that has the neat trait that sim keeps everthing neat and tidy and will just do their own thing while you concentrate on your main sim just don't forget to send your sims off to the park or tour movie tour science centre otherwise they will get a stir crazy moodlet if they have been inside too long then sending them off somewhere will help unless a sim has the hates the outdoors moodlet then they love to stay inside
