i have done that but origin only has my expansion packs listed not the base game. will that effect anything ? will i still be able to play sims 3 on the new/old mac?
Are you sure the base game isn't hidden in the library? Check under the "Hidden" section.

it is no where on orgin and it wouldent let me add it as one of my games to the sims 3 website either?

Do you have the base game on a disc? If so then you should be able to redeem the code within Origin. See if this helps:

If you are entering the code correctly and it still won't redeem on Origin or register on the sims3.com website, you may need to contact customer services for assistance. Presumably the code did work once as you have the game on your laptop, so it's odd that it won't work now. Make sure that you are entering the right characters for example the number 0 can be confused with the letter O etc.

i have the base game on the disk i have tried adding it to orgin and the sims 3 website with the correct code that is in the cd case and it says "this code is already used" its not effecting anything at the moment but im just wondering if it will be an issue that its not letting me add it to origin or sims 3 website for when i change my computer over ? thanks
