[MAC] Confused and need assistance. Sims 3

It is possible that the assistant on live chat had PC-specific instructions. What is it that you are trying to do - register the game on the sims3.com website, or install it on your computer? Do you have a disc with a code? Is it the base game or an expansion pack?
