12 years ago[MAC] Game crashes suddenly
Whenever i open my sims 3 on mac, it will open properly and you can choose or create a family but when u go to move them in the game will crash and go back to my desktop. Please help!
Click on the Apple logo at the top left hand side, then choose "About This Mac". It will give you some basic info including "Memory", which will tell you how many GB RAM you have installed.
@crispinwall, if OP has at least 4 GB I can't see how the base game and 2 stuff packs would crash the game unless op has been saving a while and is playing with origin "The Ram Hog" on. I wonder if the new patch and origin update is attacking mac users too??
@crispinwall. Thank you and interesting. Now I see why Mac users may have more probelms.

Hi Jake,
The problem with playing TS3 on a Mac is that it isn't always very stable and problems can come and go. If you were using an older save file, then there could be accumulated problems in that save. However since you are starting a brand new game when this happens and you haven't changed any other factors (such as installing new content, mods, CC, or patching or updating something), then I think it is either a RAM issue or something corrupt in your game setup or possibly the particular world you are using.
Which world are you trying to play in?
When the game crashes, just it just close down or do you get any error messsages?
If you are using CAS at the beginning of the play session, that can really hog the RAM and it will often crash the game either while you are still using CAS or shortly afterwards. If I want to make some new sims, I load up the game and use CAS, while frequently purging the RAM, then save the sims to the library. After that I quit the game and restart everything before actually starting to play. If I go out of CAS and then try to use the sims straightaway, the graphics freak out and then it crashes and I get an error message. So it is possible that if you are making new sims at the start of a new game, this might be the problem you are having too.
